12 Products Helping The Lives of The Physically Disabled

When it comes to products in the market that are helping the lives of the physically disabled most people think of canes and wheelchairs.

But there are so many new creations out there that are making people’s lives so much easier and accessible.

I thought, why not write a post listing some of those products?

Hand and finger Limitations

A lot of disabled people have severe limitations on their hands due to Carpal Tunnel, Amputation, Nerve Damage, Rheumatoid Arthritis, among other things.

Others have difficulty with fine finger manipulations, where even buttoning a shirt is a difficult task. Here are some of the best products out there to make their lives easier.

Just click on the link and you are sent directly to the place where you can purchase them.

Item 1 is a great product for those who have difficulty holding utensils. They made the handles a little thicker so that holding a fork or a knife is much more stable and less painful.

Item 2 is a kit with a shoe horn, no tie shoelaces, a long handle sponge for showering, a sock aid and much more. It’s an all-in-one dressing assistant.

Item 3 is a kit also with a jar opener gripper, a thick handled stylus for phone and tablet use, and a button helper. I particularly like the button helper. This is one of the toughest things for those with finger limitations to accomplish when they want to wear a button down shirt.

Item 4 is a toothpaste dispenser. Excellent for those who can’t use a lot of pressure on their hands.

Best Products for Those With Back Problems

People with back problems not only have issues with pain but limitations with flexion and extension can prevent them from bending, reaching and twisting.

Simple activities like sitting, picking up items from the floor, and reaching for the remote can be excruciatingly painful. Here are some products making their lives a little easier:

The Scoop:

Item 1 is a cushion for between the knees. It will help with the alignment of the spine while you are lying down. Some report relief when the spine is in a more straight position. Mattresses can sometimes be too soft or hard to accomplish the alignment.

Item 2 is a back brace with the extra coolness of an ice pack. Hum, I wonder if this could help with hot flashes…

Item 3 is a new item in the market that promises pain relief for those suffering from chronic pain. If you look at the reviews some swear by it. The interesting part is that even if you have back pain, you wear this product below the knees.

Item 4 is one of those cool ergonomic desks that you can rise if you want to stand up when using the computer. Great for back pain sufferers. We all love our computers but sitting for too long can really be damaging to anyone and even more to someone with chronic back pain.
